Hawaa Haawaai
Movie: Hawaa Haawaai Music Director: Hitesh SonikRating: 3
Composer Hitesh Sonik tries to inspire with the help of lyrics by director Amole Gupte. But it’s a bit too heavy (ironically) to completely sink in. Choolhe Ke Angaarey, recited (a slow drawl, actually) by Amole Gupte, tries to teach you jeevan saar. Deep words, sprinkled with metaphors, but could get lost on most listeners.
1x1 polls
Ghoom Gayi, sung by Sunidhi Chauhan, has a downtempo arrangement with a steady beat. It sounds kinda confusing. Were they going for a cabaret song or a workout track here? Sar Utha Ke (Javed Ali) is sung moodily throughout, it goes for an anthem feel in the middle with the ‘achieve your dream’ lyrics (‘Udne ki koshish mein nikaal aayenge parr’ is the sole takeaway from this track), but falls a little short of holding your attention. The title track (Sonik and Swaroop Khan) is so uninspiring, I literally had to wake myself to continue writing this.
The album ends with Sapnon Ko Ginte Ginte has only a whistle and strums of a guitar going for it. It’s the closest Sonik could have come to being acoustic in sound. And it’s actually the simplicity that works for the track. Unfortunately, this album doesn’t do well as a sum of its parts as one would’ve liked. Pretty decent stuff.
